When most people think of Berlin, they think of the wall and horrors of WWII, but this is also a city with a long and fascinating history of art, fashion and the avant garde. I recently went hunting for the best of vintage Berlin. Here is what I found.

To think that this coat has seen fifty-plus years of wear and is still going strong makes one appreciate just how well clothes were made in the mid 20th century and how much waste (and suffering) is produced by the modern phenomenon known as ‘throwaway fashion culture’.

I recently re-watched some old black and white classics, saw those beautiful hourglass figures and high-waisted jeans, and something clicked. It was time for me to embrace more curve-friendly fashions.
